Character Counts

The six pillars of Character Counts fit in very well with the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework we have adopted here at Dooley School. As part of PBIS, we are using consistent positive reinforcement of appropriate behavior. At Dooley, there are three short rules that we expect everyone in the Dooley community to uphold. They are: Be Responsible; Be Respectful; and Be Safe. These rule embody the character traits of Character Counts. When staff members see students exhibiting these behaviors, they give students a Dragon Dollar. Students can earn Dragon Dollars in all areas of the school and from all staff members. Teachers are able to have students turn in their Dragon Dollars for rewards within the classroom.  The classroom is also responsible for turning in their Dragon Dollars towards Dooley’s community reward.
