Dual Language Program

The Japanese Dual Language Program offers a unique opportunity to District 54 students.  This program brings English-speaking students and Japanese-speaking students together in the same classroom.  The children in the program learn not only the grade-level content areas of the district curriculum but also a second language.  Instruction is conducted in both languages.  Students typically start the program in kindergarten, but applicants in other grades may be accepted depending on their proficiency in both languages and availability of space.  If you have any questions, please contact us.

日本語・英語のデュアルランゲージプログラムでは、一つの教室で日本語を母国語とする生徒と、英語を母国語とする生徒が一緒に学習をします。このプログラムでは、５４学区で定められたカリキュラムを学習しながら、二つの言語を習得します。通常生徒は、幼稚園からデュアルランゲージプログラムを始めますが、定員に空きがあり、両言語の習熟度が十分であると認められた場合のみ、他の学年からでも始められます。このプログラムについての詳細は、ドゥーリー小学校までお問い合わせください
