School District 54 is excited to host its 19th annual Run to Read – an event with something for everyone:
The event will take place again this year at Dirksen Elementary School, 116 W. Beech Drive in Schaumburg, on Sunday, Sept. 17. You are also welcome to participate virtually by walking or running any distance of your choice during race weekend.
Every registrant will receive a T-shirt and a finisher’s medal. are ordering T-shirts on August 28, so sign up by August 27 in order to be guaranteed a T-shirt in your preferred size. To thank you for registering early, we also offer a $5 discount to everyone registering by that date. Registrations received after August 27 will be given T-shirts based on availability.
Not a runner? With a $10 donation, you can sponsor a District 54 student who cannot afford to participate in the race. You can also make a donation to the race. All proceeds from the event will be used to support literacy by purchasing books for the libraries of new teachers, so that all students have access to a classroom filled with literature.
