It was wonderful to see so many of our students and families at yesterday’s Back to School Night.  Thank you for your partnership and support as we begin the 22-23 school year.  We are excited to welcome our students in grades 1-6 for their first day of school on Monday!  

Monday will be a full day of school, so please be sure to send your child with a lunch and water.  Important information about arrival and dismissal is linked below.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Please take a moment to review the 22-23 Arrival and Dismissal Locations prior to the first day of school.  

Please review the 22-23 Arrival and Dismissal Times arrival prior to the first day of school.  It is important to note that dismissal is at 3:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Every Wednesday, students are dismissed at 2:30 so their teachers can attend professional development.

First Day of School

The first day of school for grades 1-6 is on Monday, August 15th.  Students will meet their teachers outside before heading in as a classroom.

  • 1st and 2nd Grades will line up on the blacktop, outside of door 11
  • 3rd and 4th Grades will line up on the blacktop, outside of door 3 (Lowell Lane lot)
  • 5th and 6th Grades will line up on the basketball courts near door 6
  • Bus riders will be directed to their line up spots as they arrive.  

Please communicate any changes to your child’s dismissal with their teacher.

Students should plan to bring lunch and water each day.  No lunch deliveries will be permitted.

Kinder families

  • Monday, August 15th:  Kindergarten Screening
    • You should have received a letter indicating your child’s screening time.  If you have misplaced it or did not receive one, please call our office at 847-357-6250.
  • Monday, August 22nd:  First Day of Kindergarten
    • Students will line up outside, near door 10, in the back of the school at 8:30
    • Teachers will be outside greeting students as they line up

Bus Passes

If your child rides a bus, you will receive a bus pass in the mail the week before school starts.  The bus pass will include the pick up and drop off times, and the location of the bus stop.  Please make sure your child brings his/her bus pass to school every day.

Dooley PTA Information

We are still collecting old pairs of tied together shoes for GotSneakers! (Click)  The box will be in the front of our school.  The things we do for the PTA.

VOLUNTEERS needed for in-school Fun Lunch help on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Help out in the school, get to know the Dooley staff and lunch supervisors, and watch the children smile because you have made lunch fun. No Food Deliveries Allowed

With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including, but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools. We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school or PTA volunteers. However, we will no longer accept other outside food deliveries to keep our schools secure.
