Students running and playing on Nihon Day

Dear Dooley Families,

We wrapped up the school year with many celebrations and festivities.  Field Day on Monday was a huge success. We are proud of our students for their collaboration and positive sportsmanship during activities. We would like to thank Mr. Pappas and all of our volunteers who made this day a success and one that we know our students will remember.

On Tuesday, students celebrated Nihon Day.  Mrs. Abe, Mrs. Tufexis, Mrs. Boyd and our 6th grade dual students planned engaging activities for all students to learn about Japanese culture.  Our 6th graders provided informative presentations to each classroom.  Dooley dance and chorus clubs performed, students enjoyed assemblies and many games were played outside.

Today, we wrapped up our time with PTA classroom parties and our annual assemblies where students viewed Mrs. Velasco’s end of year video and were recognized for their hard work and commitment to our school community.  Our 6th graders also took their last lap through the Dooley halls.  We wish them the best of luck as they move to junior high.  #OnceADragonAlwaysADragon

Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Dooley community.  I am so proud of the culture of high expectations and positivity that our staff create each day.  Our students demonstrate kindness in their daily interactions.  They have worked hard to reach their academic goals.  It has been an honor to see them grow in many ways.  I am grateful for the strong partnerships we have with our caring parent community.  Dooley is a remarkable place to work and learn because of our amazing students, dedicated staff and supportive families.  Thank you for another amazing year with our Dooley Dragons!  I will cherish all of our memories together.

With a Happy Heart,

Holly Schlicher
