Our student report cards are now available for viewing through the parent portal.  We hope that you take some time this weekend to talk with your child about the progress they have made so far.  Consider some questions to guide your conversation:

  • What are you most proud of this trimester?
  • What is your happiest memory from the trimester?
  • Tell me a time when you kept trying, even though the task was hard.  How did you feel after you accomplished your goal?
  • What is one goal you have for the second trimester?  What are some small steps you can take to reach this goal?

Our classroom highlight this week is Mrs. Kim’s 2rd grade dual language classroom. This week, students in room 112 created Vision Boards to highlight all of the things that make them unique and magnificent.  We loved reading about things that make students happy, what superpowers they would like to have, and so much more.  We hope you enjoy!  Room 112 Vision Boards

The School District 54 Food Pantry at Mead

The D54 Food Pantry at Mead is open and ready to serve our District 54 families.  Any family that can use this support at this time is encouraged to use this D54 community food pantry.   Although you will not be able to come into the pantry due to COVID restrictions, you will be able to order from the D54 Food Pantry either online or by phone in advance and then pick-up your ordered boxes that will be delivered to your car upon arrival.   Please click on this LINK to place your order online or call 847-357-6084 to request a food pantry pick-up.

District 54 Food Pantry Donations

During this unprecedented school year our six District 54 food pantries have been utilized more than ever before.  We know that many of our families and community members look to support these pantries especially as the holidays approach.  At this time, for safety reasons, we are not accepting physical supply donations, however monetary donations would be greatly appreciated and well utilized.  District 54 has set up a Food Pantry Donation page for interested families and community members through the Infinite Campus Portal.   To make a monetary donation, please log in to the Infinite Campus Portal HERE and follow the below example:

Log into Infinite Campus the same way you would normally.  On the left hand side you will see an option “School Store”.

Clicking “Shop” will bring you to the below screen.  If your school has set up a donation page, you will see the school’s donation item along with the D54 food pantry.  If your school does not have an additional donation page you will only see the D54 food pantry icon.   You then click “View” in order to see the description and make a donation.

Holiday Shop

You and your child are invited to participate in our school’s PTA sponsored Holiday Gift Shop program.  Our shop runs from November 23 thru December 4.

This program makes it possible for children to experience the joy of choosing their own special holiday gifts for family and friends.  It also gives student a chance to practice budgeting money.

This year, the Holiday Shop is virtual.  All buying is online at the Dooley Holiday Shop website.

Most gifts are under $5 and a few between $5 and $12.  Parents can pay at the checkout or provide their child with a funded “student wallet” ahead of shopping and create a student account or household account.

Our PTA sponsors the Holiday Shop.  Some of the proceeds will benefit our school directly. Have fun shopping!
