January 10, 2022

We are looking forward to seeing our students tomorrow morning!  We hope everyone had a fun break and is feeling refreshed as we start 2022 together!

As we work to ensure a safe learning environment for all of our students, we kindly ask that you read the important information below.  Your support and understanding is greatly appreciated!

COVID-19 Mitigations

  • Prior to returning to Dooley tomorrow, make sure that your child is healthy and not experiencing any symptoms of illness.  If your child is sick, please keep them home and call the school office at 847-357-6250.
  • As a reminder, you should notify us if your child or anyone in your home tests positive for COVID-19 or if your child has been in close contact with anyone who tests positive for COVID-19.
  • Your child should come to school with a mask that fits well over their nose and mouth.  We encourage you to send your child to school with a three-layered mask.  It is a good idea to send your child with an extra mask to keep at school. Mesh masks and gator masks are still not permitted for use. If your child comes to school with one of these masks, they will be provided a disposable face mask for use.
  • Social distancing is another mitigation strategy that we will continue to have in place. We will maintain 3-6ft of social distancing throughout the day.
  • Free COVID testing will continue to be available all school days at the School District 54 – Rafferty Administration Center at 524 E. Schaumburg Road, from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For more information please click on the link:

Vaccination Information

If have not already done so, please email Nurse Johnson ([email protected]) or drop off a copy of your child’s vaccination card if they are fully vaccinated. Current IDPH guidance states that vaccinated students do not have to be quarantined if they are in close contact with a student that tests positive for COVID-19.

SHIELD Testing Resumes

Our free, weekly Shield testing will resume at Dooley.   If your child is not enrolled and you would like for him/her to take part in this optional screening, please reach out to our front office to receive a consent form.  If you’ve already completed a consent form, your child will resume testing on Wednesday, January 12th.

Drop Off

The snow has arrived and it is slippery out.  Please only cross your child at the designated crosswalk.  Do NOT encourage your child to cross in the middle of the street.  We also ask that parents do not cross children in the middle of the street.  It is very dangerous.
