Our Walk-A-Thon was a huge success last night! Thank you to Mr. Pappas, Ms. Velasco, Mrs. Conrad, and all of our families who participated in this event. If you weren’t able to make it, please be sure to listen to Can I Be Your Dog?, read by our very own Ms. Velasco. We will continue to collect donations for Anderson’s Animal Shelter thru October 14th! Please see below for more details.
Our classroom highlight for the week is Meserveys’ fifth and sixth grade class. Students in room 117 have created a Padlet to share their magnificent moments from the week. We hope you enjoy reading the Room 117 Padlet!
Fall goal setting conferences and book fair are next week! Conferences will be on Thursday, October 7th and Friday, October 8th. Families will have the option to choose in person or Zoom. Please see below for details on how to sign up, if you have not already done so. Thursday morning is our Donuts event. Please click on the link or see below for details!
School District 54 is now making it easier than ever for families to schedule conferences with teachers. We’ve partnered with “Meet the Teacher” to provide a mobile-friendly and easy-to-use system that creates a simple and streamlined scheduling experience. To login and schedule a conference, please visit https://schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com/ and enter the information in the text fields. Please make sure you enter the information that matches the student’s registration. If you have more than one child in District 54, you will only have to use one child’s information to login. The system will show you options for all the students in your household after you login once.
Once you’re in the system, you’ll be able to select your child’s/children’s teacher(s) and your preferred dates and times. If you prefer to have your conference virtually via Zoom, please add a message to the conference when prompted and type in the word “Zoom.” If you prefer to have an in-person conference, please leave this blank. If you would like to change or delete any scheduled conferences, you can do so by logging in again with the same information. We encourage you to bookmark the website https://schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com/ on your phone, tablet, or desktop to review, possibly make changes, and for future parent-teacher conference sessions.
For more detailed information on how to login and navigate the site, please view our guide below. If you have any questions, please call 847-357-6250 or email [email protected]
When signing up for conferences for multiple children, please do not sign up back to back. We would like to ensure travel time from room to room. Our conference schedules do not have much wiggle room, so it is important to arrive at your designated time.

District 54 is offering free COVID-19 SHIELD drive-up testing to all students and staff. Please note that ANY student or staff member can get a test regardless of their participation in the weekly SHIELD surveillance testing. Please note:
Testing is available all school days from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at School District 54 – Rafferty Administration Center located at 524 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg. More information can be found by clicking on the SHIELD Testing Flyer.
With suburban Cook County now in a level of high community transmission of COVID-19 (Cook County Department of Public Health), District 54 has decided to create COVID Dashboards on each school’s website to provide families and staff with a transparent summary of instances of COVID-19 reported to District 54. A positive case indicates that the student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Please report cases of COVID-19 to our school so that we can initiate contact tracing. Parents/guardians of students identified as close contacts will be contacted directly to discuss next steps. District 54 will update these dashboards by 3 p.m. on Fridays when school is in session.
