We are excited to highlight Ms. Nowak’s 2nd grade classroom this week. Students created a Padlet to share fun things from their week.
As a reminder, there is no school on Wednesday, November 24th – Friday, November 26th, as we are off for Thanksgiving. Please note that there will be no TAP writing club or Elevate math club on Tuesday, November 23rd.
Dear Parents:
Your child is invited to attend our upcoming holiday gift shopping program at school. The shop will run on Thursday December 2nd and Friday December 3rd. Both days are during school hours only.
This exciting program makes it possible for children to experience the joy of choosing their own special holiday gifts for family and friends. The program also provides a safe learning experience for children in the budgeting and use of money.
The gifts are moderately priced, with most under $5 and a few special items between $5 and $12. Parent volunteers will assist your children in the shop with their purchases, based on the amount of money they bring and the number of persons to shop for. There is a preview site to be viewed please go to link https://6293500.holidaytreasures.com/ . You will also have an opportunity to order gift vouchers for your child to use instead of sending them with cash.
They do not have the on-line ordering option anymore, so if you know your child will be absent, you can send your order and money to Dooley School: Attention Holiday Shop, before December 2nd. PTA does accept checks please make out to Dooley PTA (no credit cards, you can purchase the voucher on-line if needed).
No later than December 1st your child will come home with an envelope, a wish list and flyer for the holiday shop. Please make sure that the envelope comes back to the school on Thursday for your child to shop. If your child forgets or doesn’t bring their money they will not be allowed to shop.
Some gifts sell out quickly we encourage the children to pick another gift at the same price, or we can order the items to be received the next week
We will need a few adult volunteers to help during the shop. This will be a very rewarding program. We are looking for volunteers that are vaccinated. Volunteers are needed each day and for setup on Wednesday December 1st. Click HERE to volunteer.
Sincerely,
Dooley PTA

If your child is fully vaccinated, please send a copy of their vaccination card to Nurse Johnson: [email protected] .
Winter MAP testing will take place November 30th – December 9th. We ask that you please remind your child to charge their device the night before testing and eat a good breakfast the day of their test. We are excited to see the growth from all of our students! Please see below for details:

With suburban Cook County now in a level of high community transmission of COVID-19 (Cook County Department of Public Health), District 54 has decided to create COVID Dashboards on each school’s website to provide families and staff with a transparent summary of instances of COVID-19 reported to District 54. A positive case indicates that the student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Please report cases of COVID-19 to our school so that we can initiate contact tracing. Parents/guardians of students identified as close contacts will be contacted directly to discuss next steps. District 54 will update these dashboards by 3 p.m. on Fridays when school is in session.
