Students and staff dressed like super heroes

Dooley students spent time celebrating Inclusive Schools Week.  They enjoyed participating in a variety of spirit days and listened to informative announcements from Club Unify.

Our highlight this week is our 2nd grade dual language classrooms.  Students spent time reflection on what they are thankful for and what it means to be mindful.  We hope you enjoy reading the Room 110 and Room 112 Padlets.

We are looking forward to our Early Instrumental Music winter concert on Tuesday, December 13th.  Have a wonderful weekend!

A Note for our 6th Grader Families

Throughout the month of November, Mr. Musselman, the assistant principal at Jane Addams Junior High has visited the elementary feeder schools in preparation for next school year.  Sixth grade students received an overview of a typical day in junior high, learned about the different elective course options and extracurricular opportunities, and had an opportunity to have their questions answered.  Next year’s scheduling is around the corner, and the 7th grade elective selection window will be opening up in the IC parent portal Friday, December  2nd.  Please be on the lookout for an email from Mr. Bingen, Jane Addams Principal, with details on the selection process and the upcoming 6th grade parent night, which will be held on Wednesday, December 14th. In addition to helping the students adjust, the parent night will provide information about your child’s school for next year.  For our Dual Language and Chinese Immersion families, there will be a presentation beforehand that will provide specific information about the program your child is enrolled in.

A Note from Mrs. Thomas

Parking changes

The Village of Schaumburg has approved changes in parking on Lowell Lane and Norwood Lane.  Traffic can be congested on these streets with cars and buses.  The changes in parking can ensure traffic flow is smooth and the safety of our students is prioritized.  These changes went into effect on November 21st.  Please see the image below to familiarize yourself with the adjustments.
