Mark your calendars! We are excited to welcome 1-6 grade students on Monday, August 21. Kindergartners’ first day of school is Monday, August 28. On the first day of school, students will meet their teachers outside before heading into the building as a class. Please take a moment to review the 23-24 Arrival and Dismissal Times prior to the first day of school. It is important to note that dismissal is at 3:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday. Every Wednesday, students are dismissed thirty minutes early at 2:30 PM.
On the first day of school, all students will line up on the blacktop behind the school to meet their teacher. Teachers will hold signs with the name and grade level for your child’s reference. All staff will be outside to support your child with finding their teacher. Please see below for line up locations on the first day of school ONLY. Thank you!

Student classroom assignments for Grades 1-6 are available! Classroom assignments have been shared via the Parent Portal so make sure your account is up and running. For additional support with logging in to the Parent Portal, kindly contact the District 54 portal support desk at [email protected] or call 847-357-5110.
Immunization, physical, dental, and vision forms are required for incoming kindergarteners. Please drop these off to Nurse Johnson in the main office. Please mark your calendars for some important Kindergarten dates:
The PTA is so excited for the 23-24 school year. We have so many fun things planned for the Dooley Families. Show your support and help us make this year the best yet! Annual Back to School Stock the Lounge – Each year we try to stock the teacher’s lounge with some tasty and healthy snacks. We want to make sure our teacher’s are energized and ready for school to start too! Drop off donations to the collection box at Back to School night! Click here for more information!
If you ordered school supplies through the PTA in spring, they will be delivered right to your child’s classroom in time for Back to School Night.
The Fall “Grow with the PTA” event is on! Treat yourself with some fall mums to bring some extra color to the season. $11 each. Red, yellow, orange and purple mums are available. We can’t wait to see all the Dooley families at Back to School Night! Be sure to stop by the PTA table to see what we have planned for the year and sign up to volunteer for different school events. We are so excited to be partnering with Cook’s Ice Cream to have a special Scoop Bus that will have yummy ice cream for sale! Each serving will be $5 and $1 of each sale will go towards our Dooley PTA. CASH ONLY.

With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including, but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools. We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school or PTA volunteers. However, we will no longer accept other outside food deliveries to keep our schools secure.
