Dooley Lights the Way Graphic

We enjoyed welcoming our 1st-6th graders this week and look forward to our Kindergarten students joining us on Thursday! This week at Dooley we embraced our class communities, kicked off the year with a fun assembly, and reconnected with friends and teachers. Our theme this year is We are ONE, Dooley Lights the Way. All of our students read the book I Am One and reflected on how we can make a positive impact together as a school community. You can find a read aloud of the book linked here.

We have so many wonderful happenings at Dooley School that we share to Instagram and Facebook. On both platforms, Dooley School’s handle is @DooleySchool54.  We hope you follow us throughout the school year!

We are so grateful to all of our families for your support and partnership as we begin the 24-25 school year! Have a wonderful weekend!

Arrival and Dismissal Information

Please take a moment to review the Arrival and Dismissal Locations and Times. If there is a change in the usual way that your child will be going home, please email the office staff and your child’s classroom teacher in advance. It is most essential to let the office know, as teachers aren’t always able to check email throughout the afternoon. If an unusual circumstance arises the day of, we ask that you please call the office no later than 2:00 PM the day of the change.  Students will go home their scheduled way if the front office has not been notified.

Kindergarten Families

We are excited to welcome our Kindergarten students on Thursday, August 22. Kindergarten students will line up outside Door 10 in the back of the building by 8:30 AM. Teachers will be outside greeting students as they line up. Please join us on the blacktop following drop off to connect with other Kindergarten families at our PTA Tears and Cheer Event!
Kinder Dual Language families: You can view updated homeroom teachers in the parent portal on Monday, August 19.

A Note from Mrs. Conrad

Mrs. Conrad wanted to share with you a few details about her summer!  On the last day of school, her sandal got stuck in a sidewalk crack.  Unfortunately, she had many bones broken in her foot, as well as a ligament rupture.  She had surgery in June to repair the damage.

This injury is different than a simple break.  It’s actually called a Lisfranc injury, named after the surgeon who specialized in foot surgeries. She is currently on crutches, and is working closely with her physical therapists.  She hopefully will be near 100% by June, but until then, her fancy footwork during dances will have to be modified!   She wants to thank everyone for their kind words at back to school night!  She’s excited to be back at school, and see all our Dooley Dragons!
