Wow! What an amazing week we had at Dooley School full of learning and peak moments! This afternoon we celebrated the money we raised as a school for the District 54 Service project with the American Cancer Society. Together as a school community we raised $1,131.66! We celebrated with a dance party and several Dooley staff members dressed up in inflatable costumes for a masked singer contest! We’d also like to recognize our amazing Dooley student ambassadors for their leadership with this important project.
We also enjoyed celebrating our staff during Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you to our PTA for your kindness and making this week feel extra special for our teachers!
Thank you to all our families who joined us for Donuts with Grownups this morning. Shout out to our amazing PTA volunteers for making this event a huge success!
All Dooley students will have the opportunity to learn about Japanese Calligraphy and mindfulness on Thursday, May 15th. Japanese brush and special ink will be used, and this ink will not wash off it gets on your child’s clothes. Please plan for your child to wear black on this day, or any clothing you do not mind getting ink on. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
We will continue celebrating our Always Be Celebrating Dooley Spirit Days on next week.
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching another action packed school year with all of the children from Dooley Elementary School. As the end of our school year is approaching, it is that time to begin our planning for Field Day. Dooley’s Field Day is a day to celebrate all of the hard work and accomplishments that the students have achieved throughout the past school year. On Field Day, all of our students have the opportunity to participate in games and activities. Our Field Day has been a success in the past due to our devoted parents and Dooley volunteers.
Throughout the day, there are many games and activities stationed throughout the school for all of our students to participate in. Teachers and students rotate and are allotted a designated time at each station as the day progresses. In the past, parents have graciously volunteered their time to help manage the stations and to make this day as smooth as possible for all of the kids. Please know that parents will be facilitating the stations, so you would not be able to bring younger children with you.
This school year, Field Day will be Friday May 23, 2025. We also have a rain date on Tuesday May 27, 2025 If you are interested in helping manage stations and games for students on Field Day please fill out the Google Form. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me through phone or e-mail. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on Field Day!
