Arrivals and Dismissals Procedures

Please take a moment to review the Arrival and Dismissal information on the maps linked here. Please note that there has been a small update to our arrival procedures in the morning. Doors 1, 6, and 10 will open at 8:30 am for students to enter the building. All students riding a bus will enter through Door 1. All other students may enter through Door 1, 6, or 10, depending on which entrance is most convenient for you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Fall MAP Assessments

On August 26 – September 3, we will test kindergarten through eighth grade students using the computer-based MAP assessments tool. The purpose of MAP Growth and MAP Reading Fluency (K-2) is to inform teachers of the immediate instructional needs of students. MAP results equip educators with key data to help personalize instruction and pinpoint individual student needs. Please note that MAP has updated their national norms in 2025 so you may see some variance in your student’s national percentile rank compared to your student’s past MAP assessments.

MAP Testing Schedule:

Tuesday, August 26: Kinder, 5th and 6th Math

Wednesday August 27: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Math

Thursday, August 28: Kinder, 5th and 6th Reading

Friday, August 29: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Reading

Tuesday, September 2: Kinder Reading

Wednesday, September 3: 1st and 2nd Reading

Progressive Discipline

At Dooley, we are committed to helping students grow as responsible individuals who demonstrate self-discipline and make positive choices. We believe every child can learn and grow through guidance, consistency, and support. To ensure that our school remains a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all, we use a consistent school-wide approach to behavior expectations and consequences.

Behavior that disrupts learning or infringes on the rights of others will be addressed with progressive consequences that are clearly communicated and fairly applied throughout the school day; including during arrival/dismissal, specials, acceleration periods, lunch and recess.

Progressive Consequences and Supports:

  • First Infraction: Verbal warning from a staff member to remind student of the expected behavior
  • Second Infraction: Classroom-issued consequence, reteaching of expected behavior, and possible phone call home
  • Third Infraction: Second level classroom consequence, reteach and reflection, and required phone call home
  • Fourth Infraction: All of the above, plus support from the office

Response to Severe Clause Behaviors:

In cases of unsafe or highly disruptive behavior, students will be immediately referred to the office. Parents/guardians will be contacted directly by an administrator. Examples of behaviors that fall under the Severe Clause include: fighting, insubordination; serious verbal abuse or use of profanity or obscenity; acts that jeopardize the health, safety, and welfare of another; repeated and willful behavior that constitutes disregard for the rules and regulations of the school; and chronic behaviors involving classroom disruptions or inappropriate language.

Our ultimate goal is to teach and reinforce positive behavior so that every student can thrive in a learning environment that is safe, supportive and engaging . If you have any questions about our progressive discipline system, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We value your partnership and support.

Electric Bikes, Scooters, and Skateboards

Electric bikes, scooters and skateboards are not permitted on District 54 property, due to safety concerns including the potential for accidents and the possibility of fire associated with such devices. This applies to students, as well as to family members and friends who may be picking up or dropping off students at school.
