We were absolutely thrilled to welcome our Kindergartners to Dooley School this week! Thank you to our amazing PTA for organizing the Tears and Cheers breakfast for our Kindergarten families. We loved connecting with our newest members of the Dooley Community.

There’s so much happening at Dooley School, and we love sharing those special moments with you on social media. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook—our handle on both platforms is @DooleySchool54. Stay connected with us all year long!

Arrival and Dismissal Information

Please take a moment to review the Arrival and Dismissal information on the maps linked here. Please note that there has been a small update to our arrival procedures in the morning. Doors 1, 6, and 10 will open at 8:30 am for students to enter the building. All students riding a bus will enter through Door 1. All other students may enter through Door 1, 6, or 10, depending on which entrance is most convenient for you.

Drop and Go Reminders

Families dropping off their child(ren) during arrival at the Drop and Go on Lowell Lane, please do not park and leave your car to drop off your child(dren). This lane is meant to keep moving quickly so we can ensure the flow of traffic and have our students safely enter the building. We also ask that you don’t make u-turns on Lowell Lane during this busy time of the morning. Thank you for your help with this!

Notifying School of Dismissal Changes

If there is a change in the usual way that your child will be going home, please email the office staff and your child’s classroom teacher in advance. It is most essential to let the office know, as teachers aren’t always able to check email throughout the afternoon. If an unusual circumstance arises the day of, we ask that you please call the office no later than 2:00 PM the day of the change. Students will go home their scheduled way if the front office has not been notified.

Fall Map Assessments

On August 26 – September 3, we will test kindergarten through eighth grade students using the computer-based MAP assessments tool. The purpose of MAP Growth and MAP Reading Fluency (K-2) is to inform teachers of the immediate instructional needs of students. MAP results equip educators with key data to help personalize instruction and pinpoint individual student needs. Please note that MAP has updated their national norms in 2025 so you may see some variance in your student’s national percentile rank compared to your student’s past MAP assessments.
