Dear Dooley Families,

Over the past 5 years, it has been an honor to serve as the principal of Dooley Elementary School. Each day, we have remained focused on ensuring the success of all students socially, emotionally and academically. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to maximize their time with students through rigorous and engaging lessons. They prioritize making connections and building relationships with students. With these things in place, I could not be more proud of the positive school culture that exists at Dooley. I am amazed at how our students rise to high academic expectations, set individual goals and take ownership of their learning. The success of our school would not be possible without our strong parent partnership. We have accomplished great things working together.

On July 1st,  I will move into the role of Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for School District 54. During the next several weeks, our District leadership team will work to fill the position of building principal. This will allow time for a smooth transition for the 2023-2024 school year. I have no doubt that the next building leader will do wonderful things to support Dooley students, staff and families.

While I will miss seeing the Dooley students and staff each day, I know I will stay closely connected to the school. I will carry with me many positive memories from my time at Dooley and forever be grateful for the opportunity to lead in such a special place. I have truly enjoyed each and every day as the principal of Dooley School. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your support and collaboration during my tenure. I look forward to continuing to work together for the remainder of this school year.

Sincerely,

Holly Schlicher
