Financial hardships make it challenging to meet basic household needs which creates a barrier for student focus and learning. School District 54 students are your neighbors, your prospective employees or partners, your community’s future. That’s why The District 54 Education Foundation launched the Caring for Our Community Campaign in October 2022.
The Foundation’s goal is to raise $100,000 for its Crisis Fund in one year’s time. They are looking for individuals, businesses and organizations who will meet the challenge and become official Crisis Fund Community Partners by donating a minimum of $1,000 online at d54foundation.org/donate or by contacting the fundraising team at [email protected].
A great way to give back to the students of District 54 while not breaking the bank is to set up a recurring monthly donation to the Crisis Fund. Just $100 per month through October 2023 will make you a Crisis Fund Community Partner ($1,000+).
Due to the generosity of donors, the Crisis Fund has distributed more than $111,000 to hundreds of District 54 families to afford groceries, clothing, utilities, gas and other essential items. While this fund was created in response to the pandemic, the need is still great in our community.
Community Partners to date include Gladstone Tax & Accounting, Tom and Lisa Manzardo, Andy Murray, Cyndie Gordon, Sue Budak, HOH Water Technology, Boilersource, Atomatic Mechanical Services, Wepa Libros, Thermosystems, Porter Pipe & Supply, Hanover Park Mayor Rodney Craig and Stevenson Crane, Rigging & Heavy Haul.
