D54 Service Project

In the month of April, all District 54 schools will participate in the first annual community service event.  District 54 will be supporting the American Cancer Society by fundraising money to make a difference for families. The American Cancer Society strives to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families. They help ensure everyone has the opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. With the help of your donations, the lives of families and patients can be drastically improved.  How can you participate?  Money can be donated via cash, QR Code, or check.  All checks can be made out to School District 54. Cash and check can be placed in a sealed envelope and turned in to the main office with the form below. We ask that students do not go door to door asking for money.  Each school will celebrate on May 9th!

Field Day May 23-Message from Mr. Pappas

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching another action packed school year with all of the children from Dooley Elementary School. As the end of our school year is approaching, it is that time to begin our planning for Field Day. Dooley’s Field Day is a day to celebrate all of the hard work and accomplishments that the students have achieved throughout the past school year. On Field Day, all of our students have the opportunity to participate in games and activities.  Our Field Day has been a success in the past due to our devoted parents and Dooley volunteers.

Throughout the day, there are many games and activities stationed throughout the school for all of our students to participate in. Teachers and students rotate and are allotted a designated time at each station as the day progresses.  In the past, parents have graciously volunteered their time to help manage the stations and to make this day as smooth as possible for all of the kids. Please know that parents will be facilitating the stations, so you would not be able to bring younger children with you.

This school year, Field Day will be Friday May 23, 2025. We also have a rain date on Tuesday May 27, 2025   If you are interested in helping manage stations and games for students on Field Day please fill out the Google Form.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me through phone or e-mail. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on Field Day!

Coffee and Conversation

You are invited to join us on Wednesday, April 16th from 5:00-6:00 p.m. for refreshments and a chance to discuss this month’s topic: Understanding and Supporting Your Child’s Emotion.
