We were definitely feeling all the LOVE for Dooley this week! We would like to extend our gratitude to our PTA and volunteers who made our Valentine’s parties a huge success! Our Dragons enjoyed all of the creative games and activities during the parties. Thank you!
We are happy to share that our amazing Assistant Principal, Ms. Seika Kobari will move into a new role next school year within District 54, as the Director of Multilingual Programs. We will always be grateful for Ms. Kobari’s dedication and leadership during her time at Dooley School.
Over the past 3 years, it has been an honor to serve as the Assistant Principal of Dooley Elementary School. I have had the pleasure of seeing our Dooley students grow academically and socio-emotionally because of the commitment by our dedicated staff and the supportive and strong parent partnerships.
On July 1st, I will move into the role of Director of Multilingual Programs for School District 54. I am honored to serve our community in this new role. While I will miss seeing the Dooley students and staff on a daily basis, the Dooley community will always have a special place in my heart. I will cherish the memories I have made together with our Dooley students, staff, and community. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in ensuring student success at Dooley School.
The Smile Illinois Moblie Dentist program is again being offered on Thursday, February 27th. The clinic site is Campanelli School (310 So Springinsguth Rd, Schaumburg). Dooley students are welcome to schedule an appointment for this service by contacting the Dooley nurse, Mrs. Johnson (847-367-6260) for permission form or complete the permission form online at www.myschooldentist.com
Services provided include dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants. There may be no cost to you if your child is insured with Medicaid or All Kids. Private insurance and self-pay options are also available. Parents must provide transportation.
Our fourth, fifth, and sixth grade families received a link to the pre-recorded Reproductive System webinar on Thursday, February 6, 2025. This link will be available through Monday, February 17, 2025 for your viewing. This will be an opportunity for parents and guardians to preview the materials presented to the students. The webinar is accompanied by a Frequently Asked Question page to support the materials our intermediate students will be receiving soon. Please feel free to reach out to our nurse, your child’s classroom teacher, or me with any questions.
Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. If you do not want your child to participate, please contact your school principal by Monday, February 17th. If you have children at more than one school, you must contact the principal at each school. The parent survey will be available online through March 31st, at survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois.
The countdown to an extraordinary journey has begun! Kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! If you have a child who will be starting kindergarten in August 2025, we encourage you to log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account and complete the online portion of the application now. If you do not have your login, please contact [email protected].
After completing the online application, please call your child’s school to make an appointment to turn in necessary documents in order to finish your child’s registration. If you can, bring your future kindergartner with you, as we have a special surprise for them!
District 54 is also asking for your help in spreading the word about kindergarten registration. If you know of a child who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2025, please encourage the family to start their enrollment online at sd54.org/kindergarten. The sooner students enroll, the sooner District 54 will know how many kindergarten teachers we need to best serve our kindergarten class of 2025-26.
