May 5, 2025

We are in the final hours of our fundraising project for the American Cancer Society. Thank you for all of your support! We can’t wait to have a surprise celebration for our students next Friday May 9th to honor the money we raised as a school!

Thank you to all our families who joined us last Friday evening for Culture Night. Everyone enjoyed delicious food, Koto music and the Taiko drums, Japanese Calligraphy, playing games and much more! A very special shout out to Schaumburg Oyanokai for hosting this wonderful evening!

We have so much to look forward to next week at Dooley school. We will be celebrating Staff Appreciation week, continuing with our Always Be Celebrating Dooley calendar, and continuing with MAP testing. Also a reminder, the Dooley PTA invites everyone to the Main Event in Hoffman Estates for a Dooley takeover beginning at 3:30 PM this afternoon. Purchase a $30 All-You-Can-Play Wristband and enjoy bowling, laser tag, gravity ropes, 2 hour time card for arcade games, 2 slices of pizza and a medium drink all with other Dooley families! What makes it even better? A portion of each wristband comes right back to the Dooley PTA.

2025 Personal Assessment of Core Competency Survey (SEL Survey)

District 54 is committed to ensuring not only the academic success of each child, but also their social-emotional well-being. Similar to this winter, we are asking for your insight as a parent/guardian in creating the most well rounded picture of your child’s strengths and opportunities for growth. To gather your perspective, District 54 sent families of students in grades 3-8 an email link for each child to the D54 Social Emotional Learning Survey on Monday, April 21.  Thank you in advance for participating in this survey, as we believe the home-school collaboration is critical to best support your child’s overall well-being. The deadline to complete the survey is May 9.

Always Be Celebrating Dooley Spirit Days

We will continue celebrating our Always Be Celebrating Dooley Spirit Days on next week.

Field Day May 23-Message from Mr. Pappas

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching another action packed school year with all of the children from Dooley Elementary School. As the end of our school year is approaching, it is that time to begin our planning for Field Day. Dooley’s Field Day is a day to celebrate all of the hard work and accomplishments that the students have achieved throughout the past school year. On Field Day, all of our students have the opportunity to participate in games and activities.  Our Field Day has been a success in the past due to our devoted parents and Dooley volunteers.
Throughout the day, there are many games and activities stationed throughout the school for all of our students to participate in. Teachers and students rotate and are allotted a designated time at each station as the day progresses.  In the past, parents have graciously volunteered their time to help manage the stations and to make this day as smooth as possible for all of the kids. Please know that parents will be facilitating the stations, so you would not be able to bring younger children with you.
This school year, Field Day will be Friday May 23, 2025. We also have a rain date on Tuesday May 27, 2025   If you are interested in helping manage stations and games for students on Field Day please fill out the Google Form.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me through phone or e-mail. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on Field Day!
