We enjoyed celebrating our students on Wednesday during Celebrate Reading and Writing Night. Thank you to our PTA volunteers for their support at the Book Fair, Clothing Drive, and Ice Cream Social. We would also like to thank the Schaumburg Library for helping students sign up for library cards and make buttons. Lastly, thank you to Officer Henderson and our student alumni for joining us as guest readers. We are grateful for our fun evening filled with reading, writing and music.
Our spotlight for the week is Mrs. Rodriguez. Mrs. Rodriguez supports many of our kindergarten through third grade students during literacy and math acceleration. We hope you enjoy reading Mrs. Rodriguez’ Highlight!
As a reminder, Wednesday, May 3rd, is a half-day for students. Dismissal is at 11:40. On the half-day, consider stopping by Mod Pizza for the PTA Dine Out event.
Spring NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing begins next week. All students take one math and one reading assessment. The first test will be math and the second will be reading. We know that this data point, along with other data gathered in the classrooms can help us to better understand how students are progressing and how to best support them. Thank you for your continued support at home to ensure your child can do their best and show their learning. We are excited to see the growth of our Dooley Dragons!
Dear Dooley Families,
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching another action packed school year with all of the children from Dooley Elementary School. As the end of our school year is approaching, it is that time to begin our planning for Field Day. Dooley’s Field Day is a day to celebrate all of the hard work and accomplishments that the students have achieved throughout the past school year. On Field Day, all of our students have the opportunity to participate in games and activities. Our Field Day has been a success in the past due to our devoted parents and Dooley volunteers.
Throughout the day, there are many games and activities stationed throughout the school for all of our students to participate in. Teachers and students rotate and are allotted a designated time at each station as the day progresses. In the past, parents have graciously volunteered their time to help manage the stations and to make this day as smooth as possible for all of the kids. Please know that parents will be facilitating the stations, so you would not be able to bring younger children with you.
This school year, Field Day will be Monday May 22, 2023. We also have a rain date on Thursday May 25, 2023 If you are interested in helping manage stations and games for students on Field Day please fill out the Google Form. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me through phone or e-mail. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on Field Day!
Sincerely,
Mr. pappas
