Today, we wrapped up our focus on the happiness tactic of meditation. Students participated in meditation, mindful breathing, and yoga. Students took time to reflect on how these activities made them feel and when they might use meditation or mindful breathing at school or home. Additionally, we introduced our next focus area for the month of February, conscious acts of kindness. This tactic is designed to get your brain stuck in a pattern of kindness to others. We can’t wait to see kindness ripple out in our community.
Our spotlight today is Mrs. Yamamoto’s kindergarten dual language class. Students had fun reading and writing in Japanese! We hope you enjoy the Room 103 Highlight.
Linked below, you will find information about the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. We would like our families to participate in this survey for our school. Currently, 14% of our families have participated. We would love to see this number increase!
Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. The parent survey will be available online through March 31, 2023, at survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois.
The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish. Note: the survey will time out and you will need to start over if you don’t finish in one sitting.
If you have more than one child, you may complete the survey for each child. You will be asked to select your county and then your child’s school.
