Our class highlight this week is Mrs. Yamamoto’s kindergarten dual language class. Students had fun learning, leading announcements, and celebrating the 100th day of school. We hope you enjoy the Room 103 Highlight! Congratulations to all of our Dooley kindergarteners on completing their first 100 days of school!
We are looking forward to connecting with families during conferences later this month. Please see below for information on how to sign up.
We look forward to connecting with you at our parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, February 17, and Friday, February 18. School District 54 is once again using “Meet the Teacher,” a mobile-friendly online scheduler. To schedule a conference, visit schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com and enter your information in the text fields. Please make sure you enter the information exactly as it appears on your child’s school record. If you have more than one child in District 54, you will only have to log in once and the system will show you conference scheduling options for all your children. Once you are logged in, you will be able to select each child’s teachers and your preferred conference dates and times.
We are offering the option to attend your child’s conference virtually via Zoom. If you prefer to attend virtually, please add a message to the conference when prompted and type in the word “Zoom.” If you prefer to have an in-person conference, please leave this blank.
People attending conferences in person are required to wear a mask at all times. Any individual who tests positive for COVID-19, who is quarantined as a close contact, who is awaiting test results for COVID-19 or who has any COVID-19 symptoms stay home. Please contact your child’s teacher and let them know you need to reschedule. They will be happy to accommodate you.
If you have a remote learning student in the Virtual Learning Academy, please contact the student’s teacher to schedule a conference. You will not be able to use Meet the Teacher.
The scheduler will close on February 16, so please sign up before then. We encourage you to bookmark the website schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com on your in case you need to review, make changes, cancel or schedule future conferences. For more detailed information on how to login and navigate the site, please view our guide below.

The Dooley PTA is coordinating auction baskets/items for the Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs Annual Auction Event and we need your help! Each year the Schaumburg Township Council of PTA’s offers college scholarships to former District 54 students, and summer experience scholarships to current students. The funds to support these scholarships are raised during the STC’s Annual Silent/Live Auction event. Each of the 28 schools in SD54 are asked to contribute.
Since all our Dooley students can benefit from the scholarship funds offered by the STC (visit https://sd54.org/pta/ for more info on scholarships), we are asking the entire school for donations (but make sure to join the Dooley PTA today so you can apply for scholarships).
We are looking for NEW / UNOPENED ITEMS listed below:
Any Crayola Brand School Supplies (crayons, markers, craft kits, paper, coloring books, paints, chalk, clay, canvases etc.)
Target or Walmart gift card (any amount is helpful) that can be used to purchase additional items for the baskets. Please be sure to include receipt or value amount with gift cards.
If you have a local business, we would love to highlight it either with a product or service donation (with your business named on the auction platform)
Donation items must be dropped off at the school office prior to February 1st.
Please contact Nicole at [email protected] to coordinate other delivery/pick up of donations or with any questions. Thank you for your support to the Dooley PTA!
If have not already done so, please email Nurse Johnson ([email protected]) or drop off a copy of your child’s vaccination card if they are fully vaccinated. Current IDPH guidance states that vaccinated students do not have to be quarantined if they are in close contact with a student that tests positive for COVID-19.

With suburban Cook County now in a level of high community transmission of COVID-19 (Cook County Department of Public Health), District 54 has decided to create COVID Dashboards on each school’s website to provide families and staff with a transparent summary of instances of COVID-19 reported to District 54. A positive case indicates that the student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Please report cases of COVID-19 to our school so that we can initiate contact tracing. Parents/guardians of students identified as close contacts will be contacted directly to discuss next steps. District 54 will update these dashboards by 3 p.m. on Fridays when school is in session.
