We had fun welcoming students back to school! Each classroom kicked off the week with a virtual PBIS assembly. During the assembly, students learned how to say Happy New Year in Japanese. Each student took time to make a Happy New Year card. Be sure to ask your child about their card. Our counselors, Mrs. Chua and Mrs. Pobojewski, have been visiting classrooms for a January Jump Start. During this time, the class works together to set goals, review expectations, and learn calming strategies. We are proud of our students for their engagement and kindness during our first week back.
As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, February 17th, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.
The snow has arrived and it is slippery out. Please only cross your child at the designated crosswalk. Do NOT encourage your child to cross in the middle of the street. We also ask that parents do not cross children in the middle of the street. It is very dangerous.

With suburban Cook County now in a level of high community transmission of COVID-19 (Cook County Department of Public Health), District 54 has decided to create COVID Dashboards on each school’s website to provide families and staff with a transparent summary of instances of COVID-19 reported to District 54. A positive case indicates that the student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Please report cases of COVID-19 to our school so that we can initiate contact tracing. Parents/guardians of students identified as close contacts will be contacted directly to discuss next steps. District 54 will update these dashboards by 3 p.m. on Fridays when school is in session.
