It was another fantastic week at Dooley School! Our students have been reflecting on their goals and we are so proud of the progress they are making!
We are looking forward to our Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 27th. See below for more details!

Our Staff Highlight this week is Ms.  Umemori’s Class. Ms. Umemori  is our 4th Grade Japanese  Dual Language Teacher. We hope you enjoy reading 222’s highlights.

Halloween

Dooley’s Halloween celebration will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 31st. Students should bring their costumes to school on that day. Costumes must go over their clothing. We will have a costume parade that begins at 1:15 PM, weather permitting. We will parade outside of the building exiting the front doors, down Norwood Street to Bradford and back to the school. Families are welcome to watch our parade from the designated area outside the front of the school OR line up along Norwood Street. Our staff and students enjoy spectators along the route. In order to ensure the safety and well-being of our children, please keep in mind the following considerations:

  • Weapons and “look alike” weapons are prohibited
  • Refrain from costumes that depict violence ( no fake blood or gore, please)

A party arranged by the PTA volunteers will take place following the parade, in classrooms. Only party volunteers who are assigned to support classrooms will be allowed in the building during parties. We look forward to a fun Halloween!

McKinney-Vento Act

The U.S. McKinney-Vento Assistance Act defines homeless children as those who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime abode. In general, children or youth living in motels, transitional housing, shelters, the street, cars, parks, bus or train stations, abandoned buildings and other inadequate accommodations may be considered eligible for McKinney-Vento services.  Please visit our website for more information.
