It was another fantastic week at Dooley School! We had such a wonderful time on Thursday morning at our Donuts with Dads event. A very special thank you to our Dooley PTA for their planning and organization. We also had our October PBIS Assembly today where we set goals for the upcoming month and celebrated our students for following the 3 B’s. We also had a special visit from Dudley and sang our new school theme song, Just Let Your Superpowers Shine!
Our Staff Highlight this week is Ms. Hendricksen’s Class. Ms. Hendricksen is our 5/6 Grade Classroom Teacher. We hope you enjoy reading room 116’s Highlights!
Dooley’s Halloween celebration will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 31st. Students should bring their costumes to school on that day. Costumes must go over their clothing. We will have a costume parade that begins at 1:15 PM, weather permitting. We will parade outside of the building exiting the front doors, down Norwood Street to Bradford and back to the school. Families are welcome to watch our parade from the designated area outside the front of the school OR line up along Norwood Street. Our staff and students enjoy spectators along the route. In order to ensure the safety and well-being of our children, please keep in mind the following considerations:
A party arranged by the PTA volunteers will take place following the parade, in classrooms. Only party volunteers who are assigned to support classrooms will be allowed in the building during parties. We look forward to a fun Halloween!

Your insight as a parent/guardian is essential in creating the most well rounded picture of your student’s strengths and opportunities for growth. To gather your perspective, District 54 will send families of students in grades 3-8 an email link for each child to the District 54 Personal Assessment of Core Competency on Monday, October 2nd . The survey will remain open until Friday, October 20th. Thank you in advance for participating in this survey, as we believe the home-school collaboration is critical to best support your child’s overall well-being.
