Kinder students standing in from of a fall tree

We had a Fall-filled week at Dooley School! Our students enjoyed dressing up in their fall sweaters, Halloween pajamas and flannel shirts. We are getting excited for Halloween celebrations next week. Please read below for important information about the events on Halloween.

Our Staff Highlight this week is Ms. Hernandez’s Class. Ms. Hernandez is our 3rd Grade Dual Language Teacher. We hope you enjoy reading all about Room 223!

Halloween

Dooley’s Halloween celebration will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 31st. Students should bring their costumes to school on that day. Costumes must go over their clothing. We will have a costume parade that begins at 1:15 PM, weather permitting. We will parade outside of the building exiting the front doors, down Norwood Street to Bradford and back to the school. Families are welcome to watch our parade from the designated area outside the front of the school OR line up along Norwood Street. Our staff and students enjoy spectators along the route. A picture of the parade route is included below. In order to ensure the safety and well-being of our children, please keep in mind the following considerations:

  • Weapons and “look alike” weapons are prohibited
  • Refrain from costumes that depict violence ( no fake blood or gore, please)

A party arranged by the PTA volunteers will take place following the parade, in classrooms. Only party volunteers who are assigned to support classrooms will be allowed in the building during parties. We look forward to a fun Halloween!
