Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We hope you had a wonderful summer with family and friends. The Dooley staff has been eagerly getting ready to kick off the year with our amazing students! We really look forward to seeing familar faces of retrurning Dragons as well as warmly welcome our new students and families.

During the event, be sure to check out our annual story walk around the perimeter of the building, stop by our PTA and SO tables, and enjoy a treat from Rita’s Italian Ice! We’d love for you to share pictures with us by tagging us on Instagram or Facebook @DooleySchool54.
Mark your calendars! We are excited to welcome 1-6 grade students on Thursday, August 15. Kindergartner’s first day of school is Thursday, August 22. On the first day of school, students will meet their teachers outside before heading into the building as a class. Please take a moment to review the 24-25 Bell Schedule prior to the first day of school. It is important to note that dismissal is at 3:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday. Every Wednesday, students are dismissed thirty minutes early at 2:30 PM.

Your child’s class placement will be posted in your Parent Portal account on August 7th. Our staff has worked diligently to place every child in an environment that best suits his/her learning needs. Therefore, requests for placement changes will not be honored. If you currently do not have a Parent Portal account, please contact one of our school secretaries to provide you a passcode. If you have set up an account but forgot your username or password, visit the parent portal website and select “forgot password”.
Families will be sent bus passes and pick up/drop off locations in early August. Please contact our office if you have not received a bus pass by the morning of Wednesday, August 14.
Immunization, physical, dental, and vision forms are required for incoming kindergarteners. Please drop these off to Nurse Johnson in the main office. Please mark your calendars for some important Kindergarten dates:
Kinder Dual Language families: Homeroom teacher assignments in the parent portal on August 9th will be subject to change after Kinder screening. You can view updated homeroom teachers in the parent portal on Monday, August 19.
The PTA is so excited for the 24-25 school year. We have so many fun things planned for the Dooley Families. Show your support and help us make this year the best ever by joining the PTA! Individual memberships are $12, or you can quickly sign up for yourself and spouse/co-parent all at once with a family membership for $22. We are also offering community memberships for the community or extended family members of students for $12. Join now! Together we can achieve more!
Current and new families to Thomas Dooley Elementary School, feel free to join the PTA Board at our first PTA In The Park gathering on August 10th at the Dooley Elementary School playground. Come enjoy a day at the park with other Dooley Families. The Dooley PTA will be there to provide popsicles and drinks on a first come first serve basis and answer any questions you may have. Annual Back to School Stock the Lounge – Each year we try to stock the teacher’s lounge with some tasty and healthy snacks. We want to make sure our teachers are energized and ready for school to start too! Please drop off donations to the collection box at the PTA’s Back to School Night Table! If you ordered school supplies through the PTA in Spring, they will be delivered right to your child’s classroom in time for Back to School Night.
The Annual Fall Mum Sale is on! Treat yourself to some beautiful mums to bring some extra color to the season. The mums are $11 each. Red, yellow, orange, and purple mums are available. A flyer is also available in your students’ Back to School Folder located within their classroom for pay by cash or check orders. Please get paper orders in as soon as possible to ensure your order can be processed.
We can’t wait to see all the Dooley families at Back to School Night! Be sure to stop by the PTA table to see what we have planned for the year. We are available to answer questions as well. We are excited to be partnering with Rita’s Italian Ice so that all in attendance can have a special frozen treat opportunity! Students can retrieve a free coupon for a single cup of Italian Ice from their classroom teachers. Each serving will be $5 for anyone else in attendance or if students request seconds. Cash and Credit will be accepted for payment.
