Earths drawn by students

We had a fun filled week at Dooley!  It was nice to see so many of our staff and students participating in spirit week with crazy hair, team colors, sports attire, and career day outfits.

Our classroom highlight this week is Mrs. Abe’s sixth grade dual language classroom.  Students have worked hard to create their own website!  We loved seeing the movie they made with highlights from this week.  Please enjoy the Room 219 Website.

As a reminder, please be sure to complete your enrollment selection for the 2021-2022 school year.  See below for additional information.

2021-2022 Enrollment Options

You received a communication from Dooley School on Monday, April 21st detailing our 2021-2022 enrollment options for your child. The enrollment window will close on May 14th. This is a reminder to parents to make their enrollment selection for next fall in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 847-357-6250.

Spring In-Person MAP Assessment

This spring we will test kindergarten through eighth grade students using the MAP assessment tool.  The MAP testing window is from May 3rd – May 14th.  The computer-based assessment will be administered to students in-person because we know that the most reliable administration and data point comes when students are tested in-person. The purpose of the assessment is to continue to obtain data points on our students and to continue to plan for instruction that meets the needs of each student.

With the testing being in-person on assigned days/times it will be important for the school to partner with families to help this process be as successful as possible.

Important Details on the Spring  MAP Assessment:

  • Students will be seated with a minimum of 3 feet of social distance
  • Masks will be required
  • Remote students invited to the building to test
  • Parents or caregivers of remote only students will be responsible for transporting students to and from school on their testing day/time
  • Communication to remote students regarding the date and time of the assessment will be coming from the school
  • MAP testing does require great focus and stamina on the part of the students; therefore, on the days your child is testing there will not be additional instruction.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher for more details.
