Art by Saaya
Saaya’s art: a couch potato who decides it is more fun to be active!

We had so much fun celebrating spirit week with our remote and in person students.  It was fun to see kids in their pajamas and sporting the colors of their favorite sports teams!

Our PTA sponsored book fair will close tonight.  The site will be available for sales until midnight.  There are many great titles to choose from!  There is also an option to donate to your child’s classroom. Please see below for details.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the traffic flow on Lowell Lane.  There are some important reminders for dismissal below.

Dismissal Procedures

Thank you for your patience during our arrival and dismissal this week.  We know that the heavy snowfall has made it very congested on Lowell Lane.  We are having support from the Schaumburg Police Auxiliary to help us with traffic flow.  We appreciate your patiene.  A few important reminders to help us ensure safety.

  • Do not make a U-turn on Lowell Lane
  • Do not cross your children in the middle of the street
  • Avoid walking in between busses
  • Use the crosswalk located at Norwood and Lowell Lanes (There is a crossing guard her to ensure students cross safely)
  • Please be patient and cautious, as there are many children who are picked up at the end of the day
  • Please allow for our bus drivers to exit the parking lot
  • Parking lots are closed during arrival and dismissal times (8:25-8:40 and 2:50-3:10)
  • Do not pass a school bus

5 Essentials Survey

Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. The parent survey will be available online through April 2, 2021.

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. The survey is administered by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago on behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education. If at least 20 percent of parents at a school complete the survey, a supplemental parent report will be generated and shared with schools. We are hoping to meet the target this year at Dooley.

Supply Pick Up for Remote Only Students

Our teachers are preparing student materials for our remote only students for the third trimester.  Parents can pick up their children’s materials anytime between 7:45 and 4:00 Wednesday, February 24th thru Friday, February 26th.  We would recommend avoiding the arrival and dismissal times.

PTA Needs Your Help

The Dooley PTA is coordinating auction baskets/items for the Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs Annual Auction Event and we need your help! Each year the Schaumburg Township Council of PTA’s offers college scholarships to former District 54 students, and summer experience scholarships to current students. The funds to support these scholarships are raised during the STC’s Annual Silent/Live Auction event. Each of the 28 schools in SD54 are asked to contribute.

Since all our Dooley students can benefit from the scholarship funds offered by the STC (visit for more info on scholarships), we are asking the entire school for donations (but make sure to join the Dooley PTA today so you can apply for scholarships).
