Students dressed up for Japan Day
We enjoyed seeing students dressed up on Thursday for Japan Day!

Our staff had a wonderful teacher appreciation week.  We are so grateful to our PTA volunteers for organizing, volunteering, and making donations.  From kind messages to great food to raffle prizes, we could feel the love and support of our community everywhere.  Thank you for a truly magnificent week!

Our classroom highlight this week is Ms. Frieders’ 5th and 6th grade classroom. Students created a Padlet to share their peak moments from the week.  We hope you enjoy the Room 116 Padlet!

Families, please continue to wear a mask when picking up and dropping off your children. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Spring In-Person MAP Assessment

This spring we will test kindergarten through eighth grade students using the MAP assessment tool.  Dooley students will take the MAP assessment next week.  The computer-based assessment will be administered to students in-person because we know that the most reliable administration and data point comes when students are tested in-person. The purpose of the assessment is to continue to obtain data points on our students and to continue to plan for instruction that meets the needs of each student.

With the testing being in-person on assigned days/times it will be important for the school to partner with families to help this process be as successful as possible.

Important Details on the Spring  MAP Assessment:

  • Students will be seated with a minimum of 3 feet of social distance
  • Masks will be required
  • Remote students invited to the building to test
  • Parents or caregivers of remote only students will be responsible for transporting students to and from school on their testing day/time
  • Communication to remote students regarding the date and time of the assessment will be coming from the school
  • MAP testing does require great focus and stamina on the part of the students; therefore, on the days your child is testing there will not be additional instruction.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher for more details.

2021-2022 Registration

Registration for the 2021-22 school year opened on Monday, March 29 through the Infinite Campus Portal. Please login to review the current information and make any necessary changes. If you do not have a portal account, you should have received an email on March 13 inviting you to create one.

As a reminder, all families are required to prove that they live within District 54 boundaries every year. If we are unable to verify your residency electronically, you will receive a letter by U.S. mail, which will list the residency documents you can provide to the school office to complete your registration.

You are also able to pay the $50 consumable fee for 2021-22, as well as purchase milk and sign up for the instructional device insurance through the portal. If you believe you will qualify for the Free Lunch Program in the 2021-22 school year, and therefore will receive a fee waiver, do not pay the consumable material fee now. Applications will be available in August for the Free Lunch Program.

Information about busing will be mailed the first week in June. Should you have any questions, please our office. Thank you for your cooperation.
