It’s hard to believe that we have already completed four weeks of school (three for kindergarten). Our students have grasped their daily routines and are working hard. We are happy to see kids connecting with friends and engaging in high levels of learning.

With suburban Cook County now in a level of high community transmission of COVID-19 (Cook County Department of Public Health), District 54 has decided to create COVID Dashboards on each school’s website to provide families and staff with a transparent summary of instances of COVID-19 reported to District 54. A positive case indicates that the student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Please report cases of COVID-19 to our school so that we can initiate contact tracing. Parents/guardians of students identified as close contacts will be contacted directly to discuss next steps. District 54 will update these dashboards by 3 p.m. on Fridays when school is in session. The D54 Food Pantry at Mead is ready to serve our District 54 families for the 2021-2022 school year. Orders will be taken through an ONLINE website again this year. All orders will be packed and ready to go 2 days after the order is placed. Orders must be picked up within 5 days. Pantry hours are 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM Monday -Friday. District 54 is offering free COVID-19 SHIELD drive-up testing to all students and staff. Please note that ANY student or staff member can get a test regardless of their participation in the weekly SHIELD surveillance testing. Please note:

Lou Malnati’s will donate 20% of total sales to the District 54 Education Foundation (20% based on pre-tax purchase, excluding alcohol) from every order received from Dine-In, Carryout or Delivery (within zone).
